Dr. Camille Black   (she/her)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #127823

I am born and raised in Southern California and grew up in a small town.

I am a mother of fraternal twins. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University.

Working with me

In my clinical practice, I am dedicated to empowering you by first and foremost showing you unconditional support. I work with clients to help them move toward healing old wounds and discovering their inherent self-worth. I use a variety of approaches: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Brainspotting. I enjoy working with adults throughout the life cycle. I have a passion for working with young adults looking to find their identity and I am passionate about maternal mental health. My goal is to help you identify and remove obstacles so you can successfully move through life’s many transitions. Also know that therapy can be difficult at times, as we will explore the issues that are preventing you from living life to its full potential.

My background is in community mental health where I focused on crisis intervention, which included working with clients that have experienced suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, or domestic violence. Thus, I feel well qualified in treating those with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, self-injury, and/or relationship issues.

I believe my calm nature, professional/personal experience, and therapeutic use of humor will make this process easier. I will help you identify the negative thoughts/beliefs that can lead to distressing emotions. I also like to incorporate mindfulness practice and meditation to help with the therapeutic process. I look forward to meeting you and helping you through this journey we call life.
