Zena Andreani (she/her)
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #111220
My goal as a therapist is to help you understand your own history; your experiences in suffering, joy, grief, and more, so that you can openly see the person you are today and explore the person you might like to become.
About Me
I was adopted at birth and raised in an interracial household in the greater Los Angeles area. I moved to the bay area initially to study English and Religious Studies at Santa Clara University and eventually planted my roots here. Since then, I have also received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of San Francisco.
Although my clinical practice is mostly rooted in family systems theory, I consider my approach to be eclectic as I do include aspects of Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, and Psychodynamic Therapy. My experience includes working with community-based organizations that assisted individuals and families with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and substance use/recovery services. In addition to my professional experience, I am also a grateful human being working towards my own recovery. I dare not say I will know exactly what you are going through, but my mixture of personal and professional experience allows me to see you without judgment and more clarity
.
I do my very best to make sure you are provided with a warm and friendly environment where you can heal, recover, or just learn more about yourself. Feedback from previous clients was that I had an open, humorous, flexible, and interactive style. Feel free to contact me for a brief consultation or to learn more about what therapy could look like. I'll be here whenever you are ready!
