Our standard fee is $160 per 60-minute session. Approximately 50 minutes are spent in direct conversation, with the remaining time dedicated to documentation, session preparation, and thoughtful care planning : all essential to providing high-quality support.
We reserve a limited number of appointments for insurance-based care. Availability varies, and we encourage you to inquire about current openings. We also provide superbills for clients using out-of-network benefits.
Yes. We hold a small number of reduced-fee spaces as part of our commitment to accessibility. These openings are limited and reviewed periodically.
Private-pay therapy allows care to remain guided by your goals rather than insurance requirements such as diagnoses, session limits, or external reviews. This structure supports greater privacy, flexibility, and depth.
We primarily work with people of color, immigrants, first- and second-generation individuals and families, LGBTQ+ folx, people with disabilities, and individuals seeking therapy grounded in cultural responsiveness and systems awareness. Many clients are navigating trauma, culture or idenity related issues, grief and transition anxiety or depression, mood shifts, stress/burnout, or relationship concerns.
A decolonized approach is an active care practice that recognizes how mental health is shaped by cultural, relational, systemic, sociopolitical, economic, encironmentl and generational contexts , not just individual experience. Rather than reducing people to diagnoses, we consider identity, lived experience, and the broader systems that influence mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
Our work may integrate methods beyond traditional talk therapy, including mindfulness, expressive arts, movement, sound, spirituality or intuition, emotional regulation practices, and deeper introspective processes. We take a whole-person approach that is relational, justice-informed, and anti-carceral, meaning we are attentive to power, harm reduction, and care models that move away from punitive or pathologizing frameworks.
We provide online therapy for individuals, couples, families, and relational partners throughout California and Nevada. (Some in-person appoitnments may be coordinated, depending on your location). We also offer organizational and group wellness services, including employee team mental health partnerships, retreats, workshops, and facilitated therapy groups.
Each therapist holds a slightly different approach or focus. Take a look at our individual bios, which outlines therapist background, areas of focus, and approach. You are welcome to schedule a consultation to explore fit before beginning.
Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you in. And beginning to explore who you are and what you life experiences have been like. We will also clarifying your goals, and collaboratively map a direction for your therapy. We move at a pace that feels steady and aligned.
Care typically begins with weekly sessions, with some clients transitioning to biweekly over time. The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the depth of work desired.
We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged the full session fee. Appointments may be canceled through the client portal or by contacting your therapist directly.
You may contact your therapist via the email listed in their bio, via phone or through secure messaging in the client portal. Your therapists hours may vary. If you are in crisis or emergency, please contact 988 or visit your nearest emergency room.
If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are experiencing emotional distress and need to speak with someone right away, you may call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, to connect with a trained crisis counselor. You can ask about non-law-enforcement response options available in your area.
The Connection Clinic is not a 24-hour crisis service. If you need urgent support, we encourage you to use the resource above or seek immediate local assistance.
The Connection Clinic is a clinician-run practice rather than a large-scale therapy organization. This means therapists personally review inquiries, coordinate consultations, and respond to questions, allowing communication and care decisions to remain grounded in clinical understanding.
Because of this, responses, including requests such as insurance verification or coordination with outside providers, may take 1-2 business days. We appreciate your patience as we respond with care.
